HOW LONG AND HOW MANY TIMES A WEEK IS A TYPICAL SESSION?
Sessions are usually 50-60 minutes. Most clients are seen once or twice a week in the beginning, then, as time goes on, less frequently. The number of sessions depends on what your current needs are.
HOW LONG WILL COUNSELING LAST?
The length of time a client is in counseling depends the nature of the problem and the goals of the counseling. Some clients have a very specific problem that can be worked through in a set course of counseling. For others, counseling is an on-going learning process and they choose to receive counseling for a longer period.
HOW MUCH ARE YOUR FEES AND DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?
I ACCEPT SEVERAL INSURANCES INCLUDING:
Blue Cross Blue Shield
There is also a self paying option. My per session fee is $165 per 50-60 minutes. Intakes are $205. Cash discount is available. I offer a discounted rate to University of Arkansas self paying students and Veterans.
Drug and Alcohol assessments are $150.
As a courtesy to the therapist, a twenty-four hours notice is required to cancel an appointment. A $50 charge will be added for any appointment that is not rescheduled with enough advanced notice.
WILL I NEED MEDICATION?
As a counselor and therapist, I do not prescribe medications. However, based on a joint assessment of problems you maybe facing, it may be advisable to consult with a psychiatrist or PCP to determine whether medication is warranted. Typically, clients see someone under their health insurance coverage or I can refer you to a psychiatrist if you do not have a PCP.
